Phytoceramide
Phytoceramide
Ceramides are a type of naturally occurring, long-chain fatty acid (i.e., fat or lipid or sphingolipid) that makes up about fifty percent of the skin’s outer layer (the epidermis). Their primary function is to keep the skin moist and healthy, maintain the skin architecture and prevent pathogens from entering the body.
Phytoceramides are ceramides from plant source and are considered safe. The phytoceramide used in LVIE® éClat is from Rice Bran Extract Nu-Rice and is all-natural.
Rice ceramide extracted from rice germ and bran consists of at least six types of glucosylsphingolipids. This extract supports skin moisturizing and barrier function, suppresses melanin synthesis, promotes cell proliferation, and has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergy effects[12].
Health Benefit of Phytoceramide
- Improves skin health Moisturises the skin
Supports skin barrier function Promotes better skin health Reduces wrinkles - Provides protection against UV Prevents ageing spots
- Clears under-eye bags Reduces skin blemishes
With ageing, the skin ceramides gradually deplete leading to poor skin health. Dietary supplementation with plant ceramides is able to replenish the ceramides in skin and improves skin health[13], [14], [15], [16], [17], [18].
